AS3 help needed

I'm looking for a bit of help with a pet project which uses Flash to parse xml files and then triggers movies based on the input of those files.

For instance, I'm setting up 2-5 sensors which send data to Pachube.com. I'm using Flash to get the xml and parse it to the node I'm interested in. Where I need help is with is AS code which will trigger a movie based on the output. If the sensor data is above 30, say, it might trigger movie B, whereas if the sensor data reads less than 30 it should trigger movie A. 

Probably this isn't hard to do for someone who knows what they are doing - I'm just not proficient enough (or at all) in AS to get it started, and would rather spend my time tweaking the idea.
