How is TripVerde's solution helping to solve global climate change?
TripVerde helps members save and make money by increasing the occupancy of car ridership. Americans drive about 8 billion miles daily, and about 80% of those, alone. TripVerde plans to reduce vehicle miles traveled by 1 billion miles in 10 years, reducing associated global warming emissions by 10+%. TripVerde gives its members the choice of completely giving up their car or simply using their car more efficiently and making money off of it in the process.
What's dynamic about a dynamic ridesharing service?
A dynamic ridesharing service is a trustworthy network of Drivers/Riders whose instantaneous location and transportation needs are available to each other helping them connect on the go. In the not too distant future, a TripVerde member who needs a ride will simply type where he/she needs to go on his/her cellphone and within seconds will know other TripVerde members in close proximity willing to drive him/her there for a fee. Our vision is that there would be enough users in the Tripverde network that they would not have to worry about a return ride, but in the absence of one, TripVerde's Return Trip Guarantee would kick in.
How will TripVerde build density to reduce vehicle miles traveled and reduce global warming pollution?
TripVerde’s research has indicated that “safety” is one of the biggest concerns associated with ridesharing becuase of people's reluctance to get into a car with a perfect stranger. But, most people are willing to share a ride with people of similar interests/purpose. That's why TripVerde focuses on ridesharing that involves member of an "affinity cluster," such as families that share the same school, or individuals that attend the same sporting, running or social event. In addition, people who work in the same company, building, or in close proximity are more willing to share rides. TripVerde is building density by initially growing its network with people who share a workplace or other common interests.
Once a participant has used TripVerde, he/she can access ratings for Drivers and Riders, offering an added layer of insight into the quality and habits of TripVerde members. This system of vetting Drivers and Riders on the TripVerde network further reduces safety concerns and increases members' willingness to share rides with previously unknown TripVerde members. As the network density increases, the vision of giving Riders freedom to take their cellphone instead of their car becomes a reality.
