Refreshers: A Creative Director friend of mine just took a job at an
established marketing firm in South Austin specializing in advocacy
law, health care/ medical, and government groups. They're looking for
a full time Web Dev with a focus on accessibility, usability, and
standards-compliant markup. If you're interested in working directly
with the top creatives in a long-standing, solid marketing and
advertising firm, I can personally vouch for the creative you'll be
bringing to life. The staff is great and you'll be given minimal
supervision so you can help the creative team develop some amazing
Websites for a variety of clients. My friend says "Don't judge SAM on
their site, it's woefully out of date and I'm re-designing it - I need
someone with progressive ideas about the Web who understands the
importance of accessibility, cares about best practices, and can
navigate between geeks, creatives, and clients".

Description:

As a SAM Webmaster, you will be tasked with working with a variety of
client Websites and social media applications. Though tasks will
mostly be assigned, the position consists of minimal direct
supervision, so a high degree of initiative is necessary.

The Webmaster will be involved in assessment/evaluation, development,
and maintenance of professional-looking, well-engineered, thoughtfully
crafted, highly usable, easily maintained and efficiently programmed
Websites.

The ideal Webmaster candidate will have a minimum 5 years of web/
interactive experience, including expertise and experience developing
and maintaining websites with:
- content management systems (Wordpress, Joomla and others),
- W3C standards / Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG),
- scripting languages (PHP, Perl and Javascript),
- digital imaging software (PhotoShop, Fireworks), interactive
software (Flash, Director), layout tools (Dreamweaver) and other
creative and office tools,
- database driven,
- Search Engine Optimization (SEO),
- cross-browser compatible HTML, CSS, JavaScript and embedded
multimedia,
- Web server configuration and management,
- email account management,
- domain registrations, registrars and records ( DNS, A Records, MX
records, etc.),
- Website management via secure FTP, and
- Website analytics (other staff does the actual analysis)

You will be working independently and as part of a design team or
content mgmt team or internet marketing team or social media
marketing team. So a few must:
- good communication skills and be well-organized.
- communicate effectively, grasp a project’s scope.
- maintain project deadlines .
- be comfortable with continual multi-tasking and frequent priority
shifting
- have an air of persistence and commitment to getting the job done
be able to work singularly, with little supervision

Bonus Experience, but not critical:
- PHP, ASP, ASP.net, ColdFusion, SQL/MySQL
- Database design/maintenance and online form processing

Social Media
- Setting up clients on Social Media sites.
- Researching optimal social media options for individual clients
- Recommending client related sites for website banners and/or ads
