There are several individuals who have been interested in responding to Reflex topics here on the list, but can't because they're not included in the steering committee. My offer to post their request or have it sent on to Ben wasn't very appealing I guess, but their comments to me directly have been valuable.

Is it time we open up the list to anyone? Or to have an alternate list? The concern has been that the list turns into a support forum, but we can control the purpose and culture of the list. I have no problem with being a forum police and sending people elsewhere to resolve their concerns. Besides, while it's in its incubation phases Reflex won't attract many n00bs, that only comes with website and docs, at which point we can establish a support forum.

Thoughts?

I think that would be fine. It would be nice to have more discussion on the list. And I won't get after anyone anymore about package names (sorry Ben) or other topics people want to discuss.

I think we should create a separate group for general discussion. If you guys think that's cool I'll go ahead and create it. That way we can continue to use this list to solicit high level feedback from people who might not otherwise be "keeping up".

That's cool, but if we do I'll probably direct all of my attention to the new list. So far this list has yet to see the high level feedback you mentioned, as I'm sure its members are pretty busy with their own projects. My preference is to keep them in the loop by opening up this list, but creating a new one achieves my main objective of an open forum for an open project.

Hi all. It took us a little time to determine the appropriate group name ("reflex" was taken). In any case, the reflex-platform group has now been created and is open for the public to join. My hope is that we can use the reflex-platform group for the open ended questions we've been posting here lately. I'd like to continue using the steering-committee group to post more formal white papers or documentation of features which have been implemented - to make sure any red flags are identified by committee members before a feature is heavily used or out of alpha.

If you're interested in keeping up with the day to day development sign up for the reflex-platform list here.

Thanks,
- Ben
