In case you've not been able to keep up with the very large/long discussion on using metadata (in the platform list), it has been determined by those involved in the discussion that we should use a custom modded version of the Flex SDK. We hope for Adobe to include a patch into Flex 4.1 or sometime allowing us to just drop in a .jar file instead. The reason for this is to overcome the performance set-backs that a lot of metadata can incur and to allow Flash IDE use through .swcs compiled with this SDK.
We've talked about allowing for a custom SDK in the past to increase performance. This route would require a custom SDK for Reflex to work. I wanted to get any/everyone's feedback and blessing on the decision. We will also be able to do a lot of other things to make the reflex workflow nicer with a custom SDK. Speak now or forever hold your peace.
