Hey All.

Parine arrived, safe and sound - although they did give her some hassle in the airport (despite US passport). She said they asked her loads of questions and took her email address. Effing bastard-faces. Today I am angry, as I'm sure you all are.

Anyway, I got her settled into Erlend's. She loves it!

Natalia from the BBC called up when we were going through the welcome pack. She was being pushy, so provisionally we told her that Parine and Omar could do an interview on Friday morning, at the Edinburgh studio from 9:30-10:30am. The condition was that (a) she double checked with Omar that he's up for it, (b) she waited for confirmation from me/Duncan on this.

Can we confirm?

I just managed to touch base with Omar, and I am hoping to get both of you into the BBC Edinburgh studio for 0930 am on Friday 22^nd March.

 

I will have a conversation with Omar tomorrow to get a sense of how we structure the interview, and will email you both with logistical details ie:

 

1)      Address of Edinburgh studio & phone number of who will meet you there

2)      Taxi pickup details – whether it’s from your respective hotels (I have the addresses) of whether it is from somewhere else. I assume you both want to be returned to your hotels.

 

Parine – I understand you will be getting a UK SIM, in the meantime I will communicate with you via Yasmin’s Mob: 07727643849 or via email.

 

Looking forward to hearing the interview, which will be with Newshour presenter Jamie Coomarasamy.

Hi

Glad she arrived safely.

I think actually they have already been discussing this with Duncan. I was meant to be getting a call today but didn't so guess you did instead.

I think they should have confirned it with omar today, didn't she say that in the email? Lets follow up on this tomorrow.

And yeah, much reason to be angry today. Lets hope this festival can have some impact and this won't always be the way of the world...
