AWHONN Meeting

Hi ,

You are all invited to an informal meeting where we can eat and
discuss current perinatal and women's health topics. Kids are welcome
and breakfast is free for them on Wednesday September 15th at 9 am at
Golden Harvest Cafe in Arcata in the meeting room.

Hi Everyone, I have received quite a few confirmations about the breakfast tomorrow.  I am sorry to say that I can not make it as I am sick.  I hope that you all get together and have a great breakfast.  The meeting room is reserved for you all.  I hope that you spread the word and invite lots of people interested in staying up to date with current neonatal, obstetric and women's health topics. We had a lovely turnout for an informal current events AWHONN
breakfast. Participants shared information about county birth rates,
cesarean section rates, and neonatal and infant death rates. We also
heard about doula activities and a CAM update along with breastfeeding
and postpartum support group updates. There were new faces and
familiar. The kids all ate their fill and seemed to enjoy
themselves. It was a fun exchange and there is interest in meeting
this way again.


Save the date 10-20-2010!

I have not heard if any one locally is attending the AWHONN national
convention next week. I am sorry to miss it, but I did go last year
and will plan for summer 2011.

Watch for the new perinatal staffing guidelines which will be released
Sept 28th. I am hopeful there will be an addendum addressing the
particular needs of rural staffing.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to enjoy a breakfast meeting last
week. Hope to see you all again in October. Again, mark those
calendars for 10-20-2010. (The date is just fun to write!).
