What do yo think of the public art that has been cropping up in
Redwood Village? Have you seen the painted utility boxes on Hughes,
58th, and Day street? What about the large flower and garden on Day
and 58th street?

Did you know that Redwood VIllage is going to organize and art walk.
Once we have a few more community installations we will begin making
plans to hold an event. We envision a brochure lead walking tour that
takes you to the sculptures, murals and gardens that have become so
beloved in our community. We need artists from the area to come
forward and volunteer to be part of this event by creating some art.
Contact Anna if you would like to contribute your time and talent to
make this happen.

Gary Onstad (RVCC member at large) is working on creating a sunflower
sculpture to install on College and Streamview. Other members of the
board have designed a sunflower motif to be painted on the utility box
at this location. This is major entry point for our community so it
will be nice to have a positive way to welcome people to the area and
show we are a very special community. The installation should be
complete by Fall 2010. Anyone else interested in doing some guerilla
art or gardening?
