Black Campus Ministries Update for Week of July 25th

Friends,

Truly the Lord is good! I am coming off an amazing and week of ministry in Dallas, Texas. Here are a couple of highlights:

1. International Expository Preaching Conference of 700 Pastors

I got the opportunity to learn from and with pastors and seminary professors from all around the world (including India and Africa), as well as connect with several pastors in Dallas in the hopes of establishing church partnerships in the weeks/months/years to come. I talked to as many people as possible. It is going to take time to build bridges and connect them to InterVarsity. This week a big step in that direction!

2. Visit to University of Texas at Arlington

Walter Turner, who is planting a a multi-ethnic IV chapter there, and I met with the Director of Student Activities to discuss ways in which InterVarsity can be a blessing to the campus and how to grow multi-ethnic ministry for the chapter. Walter's vision is for a multi-ethnic chapter with ethnic-specific small groups where needed to help reach the campus.

Prayer Requests:

1. Please continue to pray for students during the summer. We are less than 40 days away from the class of 2016 coming to college. Pray for John Lin and myself as we continue to pray and plan on how to serve Austin Community College and it's 45,000 students across 8 campuses.

2. Pray that I would make strong connections with people and pastors as I follow-up with contacts from this week.

3. Please continue to pray for my funding. I need to raise an additional $10,000 to be on campus in the fall, both to serve students with the Austin Community College Plant and with our BCM staff around the region.
