Dear Friends,
I hope this email finds all of you doing well. It is with great pleasure I update you on two major items in Black Campus Ministry in our region.
First, Red River will host Catalyst, our regional Black Student Conference, October 18-19th in Dallas, Texas. The flyer for the conference is attached and 500 flyers have been ordered that will be distributed evenly to Area Directors to pass out on campus. The conference itself will cost $50 per student (details and registration deadlines are on the the flyer). The region is offering an immediate $10 scholarship for the first 40 students to sign up who are either freshman or attending their first InterVarsity conference. This can be a great recruitment tool for new students in your chapters. This year's theme is "Forward: Forward in Christ, Forward in Character, Forward on Campus," with IV National Speaker James Chambers proclaiming the Word.
After much prayer and many conversations, the conference has been moved to Dallas to serve students around the region as well as build partnerships with Black pastors and networks in the city and I believe is the next step to seeing long-term growth and development for BCM in our region.
Second,
we have a regional BCM website!!! Log onto
www.bcmredriver.com and you will find among other things:
- Real time ministry updates and prayer requests from staff
- A Student Resources section to help them locate a chapter, submit prayer requests and find information about upcoming events & conferences including Catalyst
- A "Ways to Partner" section where our ministry partners will find prayer requests, opportunities to volunteer, a special note to pastors and links to support the staff
We are moving "Forward" as a region in BCM. God is at work my friends. We celebrate what He has done, and like you, I believe this is only the beginning.
Blessings!
