Friends,
Hope you're all doing well. I wanted to say thank you again in your support of my return to InterVarsity Staff and the opportunity to live my dream of seeing us grow multi-ethnic ministry in the Red River Region. I would to ask for your prayers in a couple of ways this week:
1. Vision Casting
I am currently working through vision-casting for the region. I have been reading Paul's words in 1 Corinthians and am reminded afresh to not preach with "wise and persuasive words but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power." Would pray with me that this vision would come from Him and not my mind?
2. Funding.
I am currently at 47%. I am very optimistic and excited about the future. Pray as I continue to network, connect with pastors and alumni that the Lord would raise up true partners in ministry to help reach our financial goals. There are two--hopefully big--opportunities in the works to meet with alumni and potential donors in Dallas and Houston in the coming weeks. Pray for God-given fruit from these meetings.
3. BCM Staff
Michelle Verrill is currently in Madison, Wisconsin serving to hel[p train new IV Staff around the country. Walter Turner is officially a married man! Jovin is in Houston, recovering from many conferences and vision casting for the future. Pray that these staff would connect with the Lord in their respective locales, that there time, service and communion with the Lord would be well-spent and refreshing.
I do believe God has great things in store for this next generation of college students. We are seeing the most spiritually receptive time in the history of InterVarsity right now. 3,300 people made decisions to follow Jesus last year. Let's pray for partners and funds to come because there's a bigger harvest out there that God wants to see brought into His kingdom.
Blessings!
