How to increment the counter of modified keys for the RDB save?

Hi folks,
I wasn't able to find an answer in the documentation, maybe I simply haven't look carefully enough.
Given a configuration Redis automatically save the RDB file when enough keys are updated.
There is a way to make the counter of the key updated increment in a module?
Open a key in write mode is enough?
