Hi all,

I've been running Redis (2.8.19) in a Windows production environment now for about 6 months. Every single day the service crashes at random times. The database size is about 100mb, it's not under any crazy amount of load. The only thing I can find is the following log in the windows event logs:

Faulting application name: redis-server.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x54edbbf6
Faulting module name: redis-server.exe, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x54edbbf6
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x000000000002abbd
Faulting process id: 0xd7c
Faulting application start time: 0x01d12026f46f9717
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Redis\redis-server.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\Redis\redis-server.exe
Report Id: 66a0aea3-8c5d-11e5-80bb-00155dce680d
Faulting package full name:
Faulting package-relative application ID:

Can anyone suggest how to debug this or what may be causing it?

Thanks.

If you're running Redis on Windows, you're running the MS port of Redis, which is supported here: https://github.com/MSOpenTech/redis

Several crashing bugs seem to be plaguing users according to their bug list, but they will be a lot more helpful in debugging their port than this list (which is purposed with supporting open source Redis on *nix platforms).

There have been a ton of fixes since version 2.8.19 of the Windows port. You should upgrade to the latest stable release: https://github.com/MSOpenTech/redis/releases

Thanks for the pointer Josiah, I'll ask over there :).

Thank you Alexis, I didn't spot that. I'll try upgrading the service and see how it goes. How often the crashes were occuring should allow me to see if it's more stable pretty quickly.
