Hi guys
Does someone have a basic example of using openstack tracing to trace redis calls using python ?
Fairly new to both technologies.

Thanks

Hi there Fakky,
OpenTracing and OpenCensus have merged to form OpenTelemetry. I would recommend checking opentelemetry python docs about it:
https://opentelemetry.io/docs/python/

With regards to an example of opentelemetry I don't have one baked for Redis + Python, but I will try to work on it this weekend.
Bottom line I'll prepare the same example I did for Go+Redis+Jaeger: https://github.com/filipecosta90/opentelemetry-go-http-sample

Does that seem like a good example? If so I will pursue it and share it :)

Hi Filipe :)

Sure does (I think ... see below).

FYI I sent an email to Itamar at RL .... as we are in final phases of launching as EE customer.
Not sure if you saw that email also - but really looking at how do we isolate KV latency at stack layer ...... most importantly ...... is the slowdown happening at serverside (bug in threaded process or redis somewhere) or client side
Getting metrics will only show (if you can capture it ) that there were no slowlog oeprations at that time ...... but doesnt mean it wasnt in queue an not recorded on server side etc.

So thats the answer trying to find - other products provide some tools for this .... eg

thanks
