You can use finagle-redis open-sourced by twitter which is a scala redis client. It supports futures but not sure if works with Akka actors.

I've been slowly working on a fork of an abandoned scala-redis project
in the past few weeks. I'm sure it could be morphed to support akka
(and built to support further advancements later on)? It would seem to
be pretty easy to just create a type of client that is a pool of
connections which you can send to.
