Hi,

When I look at info using redis-cli
I see this.

slave1:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,6379,wait_bgsave

Need save off.  So ...what does that mean?

I ran redis-cli config set save "" to ensure that ay saves were turned off.  So..should I be concerned that when I run info is says wait_bgsave?

Thnaks

Hi,

I had to kill those slaves.  Now have one master and one slave.  I am trying to add a new slave but the the slave will not sync.  All I get is slave1:xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx,6379.wait_bgsave

i have 32 gigs of ram with 12G used on a 2 core server.  The current master and slave are in sync.

What should I look for?  How do I debug?

Thanks

Hello, please send logs from both master and slave at the time this happens.

Thanks,
Salvatore

hi,

I see now..I ran out if disk space.  I attached a volume to the master.  How can I have redis dump to /mynewvolume/ rather than /var/lib/redis/6379 without restarting redis?

Thanks

Here is the log

[9868] 19 Jan 13:29:56.146 # Write error saving DB on disk: No space left on device
[11947] 19 Jan 13:29:56.965 # Background saving error
[11947] 20 Jan 10:18:22.960 * Slave ask for synchronization
[11947] 20 Jan 10:18:22.960 * Starting BGSAVE for SYNC

How do I turn off the BGSAVE?  I cant sync.  I was under the impression that if turn off rdb dump this would not happen.

Redis replication involves writing to disk, this is unrelated to your BGSAVE configuration. Just free your disk space
