Is it possible to create a cluster without redis-trib.rb ?
This because I might not have a machine with ruby in the network.

Yes, you can follow the specification and create your own cluster
creation mechanism with your own slot allocation schema.
In other words, redis-trib does not do nothing of odd or undocumented,
so its internals can be replicated by other programs.

However this makes sense if you are at scale and you want to create an
ad-hoc solution for your needs. Just to avoid installing Ruby, no,
it's not a wise approach IMHO.

To "attack a straw man" is to create the illusion of having refuted a
proposition by replacing it with a superficially similar yet
unequivalent proposition (the "straw man"), and to refute it

The other scenario where it might make sense is if you have your own monitoring tools, and don't mind investing some time. For example, this will almost certainly be present in opserver before too long.

To be honest, like for the library clients scenario we have, I hope to
follow the same "Bazar" model here.
What I mean is that I'll provide redis-trib and develop it, but I hope
to see an ecosystem of other alternative Cluster toolsets.
I'm sure that if Cluster will be a hit among users, as I hope it will
be, this will happen as well.

Thanks.
Do you mean I have to create my own alternative equivalent program utility, but where do I find the specifications you meant?
Is it possible to create "by hand" nodes.conf  (cluster-config-file) for each running redis instance?
