Hi,

i'm new to redis so its a simple question (couldn't find answer when googled)
i'm trying to see the max memory using this commad in the redis-cli console:  config get maxmemory
i'm getting this output: ERR unknown command 'config'
when i enter : help config get
i get a description of the command...

i'm using redis_version:2.4.17 (from info command)

anyone knows what could be wrong?

thanks!

Guy

Three possibilities:

1) 67.3% you are using a Redis server which redis.conf file includes a
command-rename configuration renaming config to something else.
2) 21.72% you believe you are using 2.4.x but it's not the case.
3) 10.89% it is another problem I can't understand with so little info.

Cheers,
Salvatore

1. i'm running Redis-To-Go add on for Heroku,
i don't think the command was renamed since the documentation of Redis-To-Go uses the config get command
in several places.

2. i got that version number after running the info command in the redis-cli console (is there another way to check so i can be sure?)

3. what other details can i supply?

Hello Guy,

instead what I think is that probably the Redis provider you are using
shadowed CONFIG as it is a dangerous command to expose in such a
setup, did you tried asking them? This is definitely the first step.

Talk to Redis-To-Go, they probably renamed the command.
