Hello Folks,
       I wonder if anybody used Ghostunnel TLS Proxy, https://github.com/square/ghostunnel, for encrypting the client traffic as well as internal node communication.

It works great for encrypting  the client traffic but not for internode communication from our experience,  please suggest if it ever worked for any of you.

Thanks!

Hi Satheesha,

I was also trying to setup SSL for redis cluster. Could you please share you findings or issue you have seen. This could help us in understanding, if this is right way to go.

Thanks,
Sowjanya

Hi,

I have no personal experience with that project. However, for everyone's information, the next Redis version (v6, ETA "soon"), will include native TLS encryption of:
* Server-client communication
* Replication stream
* Cluster bus

Furthermore, it will also support:
* Client-side certificate authentication
* TLS versions 1.1, 1.2 & 1.3
* Configurable ciphers

Hopefully, this will make the need to use proxies for that purpose obsolete.

Cheers,
