Customer Snapshot: Virtualization Assessment in Action
Challenge
Mechanics
Bank needed a thorough IT infrastructure assessment to develop the best
strategy for consolidating its test environment and achieving an
effective disaster recovery strategy.
Results
- Used Capacity Planner to gather critical performance and usage metrics of more than 100 servers
- Identified a disaster recovery strategy that would utilize the current SAN
- Concluded a test and development solution could be built without buying 100 new servers
"[The Virtualization Assessment] was like a health check; it showed us where we are, where we want to be and how to get there."
