Hello,
I applied to GSoC this year with a proposal to implement a webapp
clipping portlet for JBoss Portal. Webapp clipping consists on
identifying and extracting specific portions of a web application.
This solution will support all the steps to display this web clipping
in a portlet: selecting (clip) the web app, parsing the selected
markup, transforming all links and form actions to portlet URLs and
returning the transformed markup into the portlet area. The concerns
will be to provide a way to clip only the desired portion of content,
to guarantee the correct parsing even with bad markup, to threat with
different types of caching (static versus dynamic content). At the
end, the portlet will behave as a proxy for all interactions with the
site clipped portion.
A JSR-286 portlet will be implemented and tested under JBoss Portal
2.7.X.
Any feedback would be very appreciated :)
thanks,
