The University of Warwick seeks to appoint a full-time Research Fellow for the fixed-term period of twenty-four months to conduct research as part of the Wellcome Trust funded project, What’s at Stake in the Fake? Indian Pharmaceuticals, African Markets and Global Health, under the co-supervision of Prof Sarah Hodges (University of Warwick) and Prof Julia Hornberger (University of the Witwatersrand).
Salary £30-40k per annum

Candidates will be expected to spend considerable time in South(ern) Africa carrying out research.
The successful candidate will have a first degree or equivalent, a PhD
in Anthropology or a related field (e.g., History, Geography, Sociology,
Literature, Law, Politics), including a solid foundation in
contemporary social theory and experience of conducting
independent ethnographic, archival and/or oral history research. No
health-related qualifications or previous research experience is
required. Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to conduct
research in one or more relevant South(ern) African
languages (in addition to English). The successful candidate will be
expected to take up the post in winter 2020/21.
