Researcher (1-4 years contract) in STS and Sustainable Agriculture Policies at UFMG/Brazil

The STS research line in the Graduate Program in Production Engineering of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) will launch in the forthcoming months a call for selection of a researcher, Brazilian or foreigner with a PhD a research background in one or more of the following areas: Spatial Modelling, Information Systems, Policy Analysis and Social Studies of Science. The selection should take place until August/September 2019. The following information is for researchers willing to express their interest and availability to apply for the selection process. Our goal is to attract a high-profile Professor/Researcher willing to develop her/his work under a broad and critical perspective on environment & society to support the development of new teaching and research lines focused in current global social-environmental challenges related to forest conservation and agricultural policies.

The contract will last 2 years in the case of a foreign  scholar, with the possibility of extension for up to 4 years. If the selected scholar is Brazilian, the contract will be of 1 year, with a possible extension until 2 years. UFMG is located in Belo Horizonte, one of the Brazilian capitals with the highest quality of life, and is early accessible with direct flights to Europe, South and Central America.The salary range from USD 40 to 50 thousand per year (vary according to USD/Reais exchange rate), according to experience and the Brazilian Government standards for the academic career in Federal Universities.
