The Department of Science and Technology Studies, a subunit
of the Faculty of Social Sciences, announces a vacant post doc
position. The position is temporary and starts on September
1st, 2014 until August 31st, 2018.
Extent of Employment: 40.0 hours/week
Occupation group in accordance with collective bargaining
agreement: §48 VwGr. B1 lit. b (postdoc)
On top of this relevant chargeable work experience
determines the assessment to a particular salary grade.
Areas of work:
Contribution to the teaching and research programme of the
department; this particularly includes:
- international publishing and presentation activities
- project application and acquisition of third-party
funding
- the independent teaching of courses (in the extent
specified in the wage agreement)
- supervision and support of students (in particular at
master level)
- participation in administration and management of the
department
Profile:
- Completed PhD
- Broad knowledge of the topics, theories and methods of
Science and Technology Studies
- Distinct profile in Science and Technology Studies,
expressed in research and publications
- Teaching experience – the candidate should be capable of
offering thematically focused research seminars as well as
introductory courses with a broader thematic spectrum, both at
bachelor and master level; experiences in teaching social
science research methods are an advantage
- Experiences in thesis supervision are an advantage
- Excellent or very good proficiency in English is
obligatory; Excellent or very good proficiency in German (or
readiness to acquire it) is an advantage
