"The program supports initiatives that protect biodiversity, restore ecosystems, and promote sustainable interactions between communities and nature, focusing on forests, wetlands, coastal areas, inland waters, and rewilding efforts.

Eligibility Criteria 

1. Non profit organisations in any country around the world except North America (US and Canada).

2. Applicants are required:

a) to have an online presence, which can be either a website or active social media account (s),

b) to provide two letters of recommendation from organisations that have provided funding to you in the past and who you would not mind us contacting, if your project is shortlisted.

3. Project applications MUST:

– protect a threatened species or habitat;

– reconnect people with nature; AND

– involve hands-on practical conservation work.

4. EOCA’s focus areas lie within the following  2 categories of action:

• Conserve Ecosystems;

• Restore Ecosystems.

5. All projects EOCA supports must:

• be field based, or “on the ground” research projects with a direct and demonstrable impact on a specific ecosystems protection;

• work to reconnect people with nature and use rights-based approaches to decision making.

6. The work must demonstrate clear and measurable impacts over its duration (up to 24 months).

7. EOCA grants are up to €30,000 per project.

8. All applications and files MUST be written in English.

EOCA funding will NOT contribute to the core running costs of an organisation (salaries / pensions / insurance) or its general administrative overheads (rents, electricity, heating, stationery etc).

The application DEADLINE is 31st March 2026 at 12 MIDNIGHT (BST) (GMT+1) / 1:00 CEST(GMT+2).

If your project is selected onto the 2nd application stage, you will be asked to complete a full application form, and send in supplementary documentation to support your application.."
