Title / Role : - SAN Administrator
Location : Pearl River - NY
Duration: 8- Months Contract
Position Responsibilities:
Duties Include:
· Hands-on support for server and hardware moves and decommissions
· Includes de-install servers and external tape drives for decommission.
· Break/fix – Coordinate onsite vendor break/fix activities
· Install and connect new Ethernet cables as required
· Complete SAN site surveys, receive and verify new fiber cables.
· Complete network site surveys.
· Ad Hoc Requests –
Check cabling, verify that both ends are connected securely.
Check cabling, and run a loopback test from the switch to the server.
Troubleshoot failed SAN fiber connection
Load and ship servers
Check for redundant power
Energize breakers
Move cables on server to new ports
· Crisis Situation(s) –
Cable replacement to restore access.
· Cable Mining – old cable from beneath datacenter raised floor to improve airflow and prepare for future growth
· Asset Disposal –
Process delete status tapes for disposal
· Other –
Coordinate onsite HP disk sanitization activities
Coordinate onsite EMC support visits.
Required education is an associates degree
Desired is BA
