Hi all,
we've released the new SmartAPI version 1.0.3 yesterday with some new features and bugfixes (see below): http://www.smartapi.de/en/2014/07/release-der-version-1-0-3-0-2/

We are very happy to see that already a lot of developers and companies in Europe, Australia and USA are already using the SmartAPI. We also like to hear from you what's missing, what we can do better or if you are just happy with it :-)

2014-07-01: Version 1.0.3.0
————————————
Features
- Added support for setting the MainLinkElement of a page
- IPage.MainLinkElement now returns a ILinkElement instead of a IPageElement
- You can now load a page by guid via Project.Pages.GetByGuid

Bugfixes:
- Support for whitespaces in values of numerical standard fields, just like RedDot
- IStandardFieldEmail.Value no longer throws an exception on access

Thanks,
Hilmar Bunjes

Hilmar,

This looks really nice, what flavors of SQL does this support? Just MSSQL or does it support Oracle as well?

Joel,
The SmartAPI uses RQL via the official WebServices, so both MS SQL and Oracle installations are supported.

We thought about implementing some features in SQL directly but then we loose the possibility to access the data from places where the DB connection is blocked. Maybe in a future release.

However, it is definitely worth to use the SmartAPI to have a clean, object-oriented and very well tested API to work with. CMS 7.5-11.2 are supported.

Best
Hilmar
