Hello,

I'm updating an ASP script set up as a script content class. However:

1) Whenever I edit the text, the system removes quotes around values as I type
2) Whenever I save the file with quoted values, the quotes around values get removed.

What setting do I need to change to disable all text processing on script files?

Thanks,
-Tony

Tony,

Are you saving the scripts inside a text element or a inside a content class?  For text edition, edit element properties and make it ASCII and disable text filtering.

Jian,

This is directly in the content class for an ASP script file. I notice the quote removal only happens on email addresses.

I think this is an IE problem if I recall correctly. I contacted support about this, as we noticed any URLs or E-mails we were putting in would automatically become links and would strip the quotes. The easiest thing we found was to re-type the quotes after IE does it's auto-link thing. If there is another solution, I'd be all ears!

I think the problems are twofold:

1) If it's an IE problem, then we really need an updated SmartTree that works in all browsers.
2) The specific problem I mention was actually after I wrote a script in a text editor, pasted it into the ASP content class shell, and saved the file. The quotes got removed before I published the script, and the missing quotes triggered server error 500s.

Jian just asked me for a screen capture. So I sent him a movie. Yes. I am the JJ Abrams of technical communication.

More realistically they need to find a better browser based code editor, or find a way to allow us to use Visual Studio or some other non-web base solution.
