Laptop Repair and/or Rental Suggestions to replace the one I so gracefully stepped on?

I have told my kid so many times not to leave the laptop on the ground that I put a hex on it and stepped on it myself. It still seems to work sometimes, but the screen gets all jumpy. It's unreliable, and I wanted to see if the screen was worth repairing.

My issue is that I need one for work by next Monday when I leave for a trip. I thought about a tablet, but it's not functional enough for what I have to do. And I can't bring my desktop with me. A new laptop is not within the budget at this time unfortunately.

Any ideas on where I might be able to get the screen of a Dell Inspiron (I think it's like this one) laptop repaired on a tight timeline?

I know that's a tall order. I was thinking my other option is to rent a basic laptop?

I am not sure if either will be cost-effective, but, as a girl who stepped on a laptop, I figure it's worth a shot.

Thanks any ideas or leads you may have. I really appreciate it.

This is a bit grimey but a suggestion nonetheless. Buy a laptop from best buy and use it for your trip. Then return it afterward and say you didn't like it.

I can't speak to the whole 'buy and return' thing... but I have gone to Tekserve and they do have rentals, and have done repairs on my Mac.  Worth checking it out.  You can also get a keyboard for a tablet and save work to the cloud - or even a netbook.  It's a better than nothing solution :)
