Hello, NYC Redditors!
I have some rather large and unexpected bills come up, and when I look at my expenses, it's clear I need to make some additional income asap. I am looking for a 2nd job part-time, but I am not sure what I am facing and how long it might take. If you know of any places hiring, please let me know!
In the meantime, I thought I could get a jump start on it and offer services to people in need of help. Maybe you have been looking for someone to help with a project?
There are a number of things I am available to do, and no job is too small or menial. I work in program development and fundraising, and I manage social networking and plan events for my organization. I can help with any task related to that or any administrative or office task. I have been trying to learn code, and I have very, very basic skills and am a fast and willing learner.
I have excellent lifting and organizational skills, and I can help you clean, move or organize your apartment or office. I don't mind hard labor or getting dirty. I am the person friends call when they move. I once moved a sofa bed down 9 flights of stairs with only other person!
I babysit (I take care of several of my son's friends and our neighbors
regularly). I provide tutoring and school support. I have volunteered
with New York Cares and the NYC school system for 6 years now. I provide
elder companionship. I pet sit (at your place or I can keep pets at my
place short-term. I have been a cat foster home in the
past.) and walk dogs. I can provide cleaning and laundry service. I knit, and I can make you the hat or scarf you have always wanted.
I have many references to share and feedback various places. I do have a full-time day job, but I am available on the weekends and in the late afternoon and early evenings on weekdays. I could work virtually in the mornings and late evenings as well. I live in Bed-Stuy, but I have a Metrocard and will travel anywhere around the area.
Thanks for your time and for any ideas or leads you may have.
Melissa
