Participants at the St. George Bird Festival are enjoying some nice birds this weekend.  Highlights from our field trips to Quail Creek SP, Sand Hollow SP, and the Hurricane Fields included some nice views of Bald Eagles and the continuing American White Pelican at Quail Creek, a male Barrow's Goldeneye, several Red-breasted Mergansers, and a Herring Gull at Sand Hollow, Cactus Wrens, three species of falcons, and a Greater Roadrunner in the Hurricane Fields, and the continuing Red-shouldered Hawk in the pecan orchard along 920 West.

Also a couple of the Lark Buntings discovered this winter are still hanging around including the individual found by Maurice Demille along La Verkin Creek (near Confluence Park) and another in Ivins. The Ivins bird was first discovered in mid-November and wasn't seen for a couple of months before re-appearing this week; there are also several Vesper Sparrows with the sparrow flock along 600 West in Ivins.
