The Red Cliffs Audubon went up to the higher elevations of Zion National Park on Kolob Terrace Road yesterday. 15 birders found the following species:

Black-throated Sparrow
White-throated Swift
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher
Canyon Wren
Rock Wren
Phainopepla
Bullock's Oriole
Cassin's Kingbird
Woodhouse's Scrub Jay
Northern Flicker
Cassin's Finch
Western Bluebird
Lazuli Bunting
Spotted Towhee
Violet-green Swallow
Chipping Sparrow
Lark Sparrow
Mountain Bluebird
Vesper Sparrow
Virginia's Warbler
Bald Eagle
Osprey
Pied-billed Grebe
Great Blue Heron
Lewis's Woodpecker
Robin
CALIFORNIA CONDOR (3 soaring)
Turkey Vulture
Mountain Chickadee
Green-tailed Towhee
Western Wood Pewee
Cordilleran Flycatcher
Dusky Flycatcher
Western Tanager
Grace's Warbler
Black-headed Grosbeak
Hairy Woodpecker (heard only)
Red-tailed Hawk
Song Sparrow
Raven
Brewer's Black Bird
Lesser Goldfinch
Yellow Warbler
Woodpecker species at known Acorn WP site. Couldn't confirm though.
Rattlesnake on side of path

We also had a possible Painted Redstart. Small, black bird flew close below us as we looked down into valley. Too small and wrong shape for blackbird or Phainopepla. Sparrow-like. Could not confirm. Seemed out of habitat for Redstart.
