It's fall, which means its time for the Unseelie fey to start prowling!

November 22-24 Redcap's is hosting the eighth annual Unseelie Court, a Pathfinder Society, Starfinder Society, and Dungeons & Dragons Adventurer’s League event spanning three days. Unlike Spring’s Seelie Court, the Unseelie Court doesn’t have a theme. Instead, it features primarily new scenarios, specials, and exclusives. Players can use any Society or Adventurer’s League character (or combination thereof) at this event (of appropriate level for their table), or at their option use a pre-generated character.

Registering to Play
Advance registration is the only way to guarantee a spot at any given table, but if there are spots open the day of the event, you can register for those at the door. Advance registrations close at midnight on November 20th, 2019. Please see the schedule on the website for a list of games offered, along with their level ranges and which gaming lounge will be hosting them. Tickets for each table can be purchased on the site, and tickets can be transferred on the back-end from one table to another, so please get in touch if you make a mistake.

Registering to GM
If you’re interested in GMing, there is an RSVP section even further down the page, below the tickets and meta-data, that will allow you to sign up to do so. GMs will receive prizes based on the number of tables they GM. Please, please, please volunteer! The event can't be a success without you! Pathfinder GM volunteers need to sign up by November 15 in order to receive scenario support from Paizo, so don't delay.

PFS Highlights
In addition to offering many new Pathfinder 2E scenarios, we'll be featuring the Passing the Torch two-parter on Saturday (an adventure for 12-18 level characters) and  Siege of Gallowspire, the final PFS 1E special, on Saturday night!

Reminder: Today is the last day to volunteer to GM if you want to get scenario support! We could really use some more GMs!

I'm hoping to be Overseer GM for Siege of Gallowspire on Saturday night, but we'll need some more people to volunteer if we want that to run. Please consider it!

Not sure how this is supposed to work. Its not on the Warhorn. How do you tell if the table has a GM and who the players are? All I see is a bunch of 5-7 available. How to I tell how many are signed up? Does 7 available mean it it still needs 6 players and a GM? What happens if you purchase a slot and the table doesn't kick off?

From what I can tell, 7 is the max number of players (at least for Starfinder). If you see 6 available, they we've got one
player signed up. GMs are listed separately at the bottom. Overall, not many signups yet. No clue what happens to
tables which don't kick off.

For what it's worth, I'm signed up to GM:
Saturday 9:00 AM - GM Starfinder Society 2-06: the Stumbling Society, Part 1: Sangoro's Lament
Saturday 2:00 PM - GM Starfinder Society 2-08: the Stumbling Society, Part 2: Sangoro's Gifts
and help with the SFS special on Sunday
Sunday 9:00 AM - GM Starfinder Society 2-00: Fate of the Scoured God

Yeah, the whole pay-per-table thing is kinda confusing. Why not just allow signups at the tables, and then collect money before the game begins?

Is unselee court still happening? The page has been down.

Unfortunately, Unseelie Court has been canceled this year. Here's the letter Benn sent to people that had signed up:

Hello, everyone!

I have some bad news.

This year has been tough for organized roleplay at Redcap’s Corner. On the one hand, Dungeons & Dragons soared in popularity, but did so far beyond our ability to accommodate it spatially, and without the corresponding spike in sales that would cleanly and easily justify dedicating so much space to one game. On the other hand, Pathfinder faded into obscurity, with 1st edition play entirely drying up, and 2nd edition never really taking off to any great degree. Exacerbating these issues was much of the D&D community’s discomfort with playing at our 1st-floor tables during this year’s Seelie Court, a complaint which took me by surprise because their use of that space was specifically assigned to enhance their comfort and convenience, and because I’d never previously received comparable complaints. Further, attempts to support organized play for more obscure roleplaying systems have largely fallen flat.

The organization of Unseelie Court this year has dealt with many logistical obstacles, as well. Many of them were my fault, and some of them were outside my control, but they eventually led to pushing the event back a month from our regularly-scheduled fourth weekend of October, and ultimately led to the schedule of tables being published much later than is usual or acceptable. Regardless of the reasons, here we sit, less than a week from the event, with most of the leadership framework of both games unable to attend our flagship roleplaying event, and with current sign-ups so far removed from the minimums necessary to run the event that it seems very unlikely we’ll be able to get there. I would rather run no event than run a really bad one, so—while It was not an easy decision—I have decided to cancel the 8th annual Unseelie Court, and immediately refund those of you who are currently registered.

Where do we go from here? Well, Pathfinder no longer has the quantity of material or base of support to really pull off two annual mini-conventions, and D&D has too many players to comfortably accommodate, without also using space downstairs, for us to continue to combine D&D with other game systems for events like this, so my current intention is to continue Seelie Court annually as a D&D event, and Unseelie Court annually as a combined Pathfinder and Starfinder event, possibly with the addition of other smaller RPGs, but this isn’t set in stone. I remain open to ideas, and I apologize for any inconvenience caused by the late announcement and subsequent cancellation of this year’s Unseelie Court.

Just as an FYI, our local Savage Worlds group, which I help admin, is growing at a decent rate.  We will have 10 tables at PAX.  If there is a need for other systems to fill out a future event, please let me know.  I am sure we can help.

I said it before in an email. Personally, if felt that the “pay per table” page was a barrier for me as a customer.

I don’t mind paying per table. But it felt like I had to figure out which tables might actually fire off before filling out the e-commerce form.

It was too much to do from my phone while on the run, and then I forgot about it.

Like I said, I don’t mind paying per table, I just felt like it was more of a hassle this year to sign up.

It’s a shame it won’t happen this year, but at least we might have next year?

We’re also in the beginning stages of 2e. Was there enough content that people haven’t played yet? I’ve been MIA the last few months, but I hope his outlook on 2e isn’t real. I’ve been playing the Plaguestone Module and 2e is still very fun. Still learning the mechanics, and I’m no where near ready to GM yet. I’m looking forward to the Glass Cannon 2e podcast that’s coming up so I can get even more exposure to it. That’s how I mostly learned 1e the last 2 years...

Hey Steve-

I'm very much into supporting 2E. I'm going to be getting a little more involved in scheduling PFS and such.

Watch this Group for more, soon!
