DAG question

I have created DAGs and assigned users to them to prevent users from viewing unauthorized records and it seems to work.

If any member of a DAG HAS NOT ENTERED  any records (in other woirds no records entered by that DAG) when they first click Add/Edit records and then Select record they see the entire recordset ID numbers only.  If they click on one they get an ACCESS DENIED message.  So far so good.

Then if ANY member of the DAG enters the first record for that DAG the next time Select is clicked only those records for that DAG show up.  Again so far so good.

MY QUESTION IS: Is there a setting someplace so if NO records have been entered previously by anyone in the DAG then NO RECORDS will be listed in the Select Record choice?
