Hello all,

Is there any way to prevent redcap to highlight the background in green in a form/survey whenever you are inserting data in a field?

I know it is an automatic feature to help you identify the field where you are inserting the data.

The problem is that I am creating a big table with embedded fields and with coloured cells, and, as the table is a unique field itself, it highlights all the page in green (which I found super ugly).
Besides, this makes no sense to me, it puts the automatic green over the background color of the cells!!
So it is literally all the table in green for the whole time you are in that form, until you click on the "incomplete/complete" field.

Hope anybody knows a way to fix this!

Many thanks!
Best
Nacho

Upgrade past 11.0.1, which received this change:

Change/improvement: The green highlight background color will no longer appear when a user/participant puts focus on or clicks on a field that is embedded inside another field on a data entry form or survey. From now on, it will only highlight the field with green for non-embedded fields. This should improve the user experience when many fields are embedded in the same table row on the page in which the green highlight would highlight all of them (sometimes making the entire page green), which is often not desirable.

You really should get to a more recent version for the security fixes, but if for some reason that is not immediately possible then do you use the CSS injector external module? You can try playing about with the “greenhighlight” style, e.g. with:

.greenhighlight { background-color: inherit !important; }

Luke, thank you very much for the help.

I'm fully aware of the need of updating but unfortunately my institution is not updating the redcap version until summer approx.
It's not the first issue that I found due to an old version.

Anyway, I'll try the CSS injector even if I'm not a programmer myself.

Thanks again
Have a nice week
Nacho
