Dear all

I'm wondering if there is a way to auto-populate fields in REDCap.
With the example above, if a "date of death" is entered, I would like to know if there is a way to automatically fill  "patient alive" as no, rather than having to do it manually.

Thank you so much

Amandine

Hello Amandine,

Usually I see that the other way round – enter “Yes” for “Alive?” and branching logic has the date field appear.

If you want to just enter the date field (or not), then swap out the radio field for a calc field with the expression if([deathdate]=’’,0,1) so it gives you a 1 when a date is present, and 0 if not. You can then branch descriptive text off that if you want a nicer display.

HTH,

Luke
