Hello everybody,
I have few problems I couldn't find solutions for and I need your help:

1. In one of the instruments, the users need to upload some images. We want the images to be shown when exporting the PDF and printing it (exporting by clicking "download PDF instrument"). We succeeded showing the image in redcap using the external module of "Image Viewer" but when we try to export the pdf it only shows "[Document]" without showing the image itself.
Is there any way to show the image in the pdf?

2. Is there any way to increase the maximum size of uploaded files from 2mb to 10mb?

Thank you in advance,
Daniel

Hello Daniel,

“1. Is there any way to show the image in the pdf?

Sorry, a bit rushed so I can’t try this, but try piping the field using the inline qualifier. I think that gets it into a PDF as well as displayed in the form. If your field is named [initial_pfu_report], say, then piping into a descriptive text field, or the field label, r the field note – wherever! -  with [initial_pfu_report:inline] should do the trick. If you only want it in the pdf and not on the survey or form, then pipe it into a descriptive text field and use the @HIDDEN-SURVEY and @HIDDEN-FORM action tags.

2. Is there any way to increase the maximum size of uploaded files from 2mb to 10mb?

That is a simple thing to do in your server’s php.ini file by setting upload_max_filesize to some preferred value. You will probably need to speak to your system admin for that though, and it requires a server reboot to take effect.

HTH.

Luke

Hello Luke and thanks for your response.

Unfortunately, piping into a descriptive text field using the inline command as you suggested still does not export the image into the pdf.

As cited in this webpage:
"Note: Inline images are not able to be displayed inside a downloaded PDF of a survey/instrument that contains data (https://kb.wisc.edu/smph/informatics/page.php?id=111587)"

Is there any other way to show the image in the exported pdf?

Thanks, Daniel
