Hi all,

I've been trying to get our merged ReDBox 1.8 into shape (ie last year's release, with UTS configuration and customisation applied) and also try to automate the deployment with Ansible.

First of all, the links to tarballs on this page seem to be timing out: https://github.com/redbox-mint/redbox-build-distro

Is there a problem with dev.redboxresearchdata.com.au?

I'm assuming that these tarballs are the best way to start off a deployment (followed by overlaying local customisations and mods) though the post-Maven documentation is not that clear.

Also, has anyone else done any work on an Ansible role or playbook for deployment?

I'm using the Puppet module at https://github.com/redbox-mint-contrib/puppet_redbox as a basis, but thought I'd see if anyone else had done any work on Ansibl-ising it.

Thanks in advance,

Mike

Hi Mike,

The tarballs are hosted on a server running on Nectar and there's currently an issue with the storage. I've been told that this should be back online later today.

You can certainly use the tarballs, our Puppet scripts use RPMs so they take advantage of the package management versioning which may be of use to you in Ansible as well.

For 1.9 we are actually looking at producing Docker containers. Obviously not useful to you right now but if keen to hear from anyone that has been using Docker for their projects too.

Thanks,
Andrew
