Hi Everyone,

Yesterday eResearch from JCU had a meeting about RedBox.

In the future we intend to move away from using the NLA ID as the unique identifier to an ORCID ID.

Given the issues surrounding the NLA ID, and that ORICD ID is very close to becoming the standard identifier, I would like to propose that this piece of development would benefit all Redbox users.

I haven't investigated the technical implications for Redbox yet.

Are there any institutions currently using the ORCID ID for this purpose ?
Would QCIF be interested in adding this change as part of future development for all Redbox users ?

Thanks,
             Jay.

Hi Jay,

Supporting ORCID IDs in the curation process is something we anticipated would be a feature of interest to many in the community so when we started working on the new curation manager we made sure that it would be simple to add "adaptors" to allow future support.

I'm putting together a list of all the feature requests we've had previously as well as any new ones that have been raised in recent days for everyone to review.

Thanks,
Andrew
