Hi Everyone,

I would like to conduct a survey to determine the data volumes that each institution is expecting ReDBox to handle.

At JCU we are currently creating 1500 records and are running into issues.
We expect to double the number of records from another project.

Please reply to this post with your anticipated data volumes.

Thanks,
              Jay.

Hi Jay,

Thanks for putting this out. I'm wondering if you'd mind me reframing your query a little? There's probably a few facets in this question:
 - How many manually created collection records are you expecting (annually)?
 - How many automatically generated collection records are you expecting (annually)?
 - For automatically generated collection records, what's the estimated batch size for each ingest?

I'd be very concerned if ReDBox wasn't handling 1500 collection records in its repository. However, your issues centre on the creation of 1500 collection records in a single batch import - certainly a concern but it's of a different nature.

It would also be handy from my side to get a view of these figures as it can help us build test scenarios that meet usage.

Cheers,

Duncan

Hi Duncan,

At JCU we are automatically harvesting and then curating 1500 records into ReDBox. The storage of the records seems to be fine.
Once these records are loaded, they are then curated.

It is the curation of these records we inconsistently have issues with. i.e. the queues stop processing them.
Details can be found here: https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgroups=#!topic/redbox-dev/EoUs5PE0Ahg

Thanks,
            Jay.
