The world’s largest show dedicated to the AD and Biogas Industry opens on March 29th, presenting a vast array of international experts across two stages and over 150 exhibitors from the biogas supply chain. Last year The World Biogas Expo and Summit welcomed over 3,000 delegates.
Over two days the World Biogas Expo and Summit (March 29-30, NEC Birmingham, UK) is the one-stop shop to become aware of the opportunities emerging in the food waste sector. Over 150 countries have signed the Global Methane Pledge to reduce methane emissions by 30% against 2020 levels by 2030.
AD and biogas are identified as one of the ‘fastest and most economical’ technologies able to deliver this, through the treatment of food (and farm) waste in place of landfill.
Jennifer Sara, Global Director for Climate Change Global Practice, World Bank will be addressing this required structural change, with sessions considering regenerative systems from farm to food waste, what is required to accelerate biogas deployment, innovations to increase food waste capture rates and not only boost ROI rom processes but enhance the value of digestate.
Panel sessions will further focus on the world’s largest emerging markets of Brazil, India and Indonesia, Ukraine, and Ireland, which have set aggressive targets for biogas development, with treatment of food wastes being a key component.
