Subject: 🌱 New Resource | A Practical Guidebook for Methane Mitigation in the Waste Sector
To: <yu...@redbiolac.org>

A step-by-step organic waste management guide for planning, funding and implementation
Dear ,

Around the world, organic waste is one of the largest sources of methane emissions—a greenhouse gas 86 times more potent than CO₂ over a 20-year timeframe. In Latin America and the Caribbean, where organics make up about half of all waste, countries are flipping this challenge into an opportunity for rapid, scalable solutions.

The Recycle Organics Program, led by CCAP and ImplementaSur with support from the Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC), has developed a new Guidebook to help countries and investors act fast to tackle these waste sector emissions:

  • Step-by-step guidance for developing policies and investment plans

  • Practical tools to scale sustainable waste solutions quickly

  • Real-world case studies and lessons learned from across LAC
“This Guidebook doesn’t just tell you what to do—it shows you how to do it, with clear, technical, real-world guidance.”Allison Bender-Corbett | CCAP Executive Director

By strengthening policies, mobilizing finance and accelerating proven waste solutions, countries can deliver fast, measurable results and help mitigate the cascading effects of climate change. Whether you’re a national government representative, city planner, investor or NGO, this resource gives you everything you need to turn commitment into action, reduce methane and create lasting impact.
