Anyway, I just want to say sorry for all the times I haven't been able to show up in class when I get sick (especially the first week, due to the erratic weather); and also lately, because I've been having trouble with my mother (she's been insisting the past week that I go home already because of the strained Sino-Filipino relations, as I'm sure you've heard about; so I had to call the airlines and make sure she doesn't re-book my flight going home to an earlier date); and also for that strange incident when my head started bleeding in the middle of the night and Liz had to take me to her doctor aunt the day after (Adela probably told you about this). It was also irresponsible to not attend the Saturday class to go to Suzhou (that was an 'outing' organized by Kevin that I went to along with all the other AIESEC trainees; you can ask him about this). I know there's no excuse for my absences, but I want to apologize just the same.
If you would ask for feedback from the classes I was able to facilitate though, I hope you'll find them satisfactory; I love the Xinhua and Huajing classes in particular. I wasn't able to deal with the full schedule too well, and I sincerely say sorry for that; you don't deserve a substandard EP. I just want you to know that I did what I could given the circumstances, and I learned so much from this program. I'm glad I took this project instead of GPN, because although I couldn't handle the 6-day work week (and I was too embarrassed to ask you for less classes), I was able to learn so much about China and the culture and the lifestyle, from those students who could actually speak enough English. And I also learned so much from their teachers, so in case you're still in contact with Jing Cui (from Bao De) and Anna (from Huajing), please let them know how much I appreciate their help (but I have already told them this personally).
And since I'm already extending my gratitude to everything about the program, I'll just continue. :)) Thanks for helping out as much as you can; I'm sure handling EPs while you still have school is no easy feat, and you did an admirable job. Please also extend my thanks to Adela, because although I am the only Red Wings trainee handling a primary school class, and I find it difficult to teach Grade 1 and Grade 5 kids (I always need a translator), she was very kind and nice when I met her (during the Suzhou field trip). I'm sure SISU deserves being a reputable LC. :) There are a lot of tweaks that can be made to the Red Wings project though, and if you want to ask for an evaluation or something, I'll be more than happy to share constructive criticism. The bottom line, however, is that all in all it was an experience I'd be happy to relive. :)
Most of all, thank you so much for Tao Ye! I'll be telling her about how much I love her when she drops me off at the airport on Saturday, but also because you are the project head, I want you to know that she was (and is!) an excellent buddy. I like bragging about her to the other trainees, because she and Janey (and Lia) take me to places around Shanghai, and help me fix my laptop and my phone, and help me find my way when I get lost, and take me to the movies (and the gardens, and the zoo) when I ask them to, and generally bring me to all the lovely Chinese restaurants that I otherwise wouldn't have been able to go to if not for her! I make sure the other trainees are very jealous, so after I leave, if they ask for Tao Ye, now you know why. Haha. I don't know if there's a prize for 'best trainee buddy' or something in AIESEC SISU, but if there is, you know who the winner is! (And this is a unanimous decision, because I know for one that the buddies of the other trainees aren't as accommodating as mine; no offense meant to them because I have not met them, though.)
I didn't expect this email to be quite this long, but I guess I have too much to say and it's difficult to express all my gratitude in concise words. Thank you for six amazing weeks, Cecilia! I'm sorry for bringing you trouble, and headaches. I wish there was a way to make it up to you. Good luck with later runs of this project!
P.S. I'll be leaving Rishab a map with specific instructions on how to get to the communities in case he gets lost again. It was insensitive of me to expect him to remember everything after just one try; I'm sorry for that again. I thought he would like the practice, but that was presumptuous of me! Anyway before I leave, I'll make sure this is attended to.
