Talk about anything here that isn't Les Mis related!

The stupidest question I asked on forum was:

I'm hungry? Does anyone have any food?

Terrence Mann is left handed and so is Colin from Whose Line?

I bought a sweater and jeans that makes me look like Avril Lavinge.

I am probably boring you with random facts about myself. But I have one
more:

I want the Pirate Queen back on Broadway!

When did Pirate Queen close? I thought it was still playing! (It shows
you that I don't live in NYC when I say things like that.)

I live an hour away from New York so yeah. Anyway, it closed because
not enough people went to see it. I've heard the soundtrack and it
sounds really good and one of the male leads is pretty sexy;-) I
actually thought it was still playing for a while before I ask my
teacher if we could go see it for the school musical. It's a shame
really. I feel bad for Alain and Claude.

Bummer, me and my mom really wanted to see it. =(
Oh well, you said there was a cast recording out, right? That's better
than nothing I guess.
I did see a couple of videos on youtube as well.

Well, she joined, but I'm not sure if she's busy or something.

Here's a couple of links to the Pirate Queen vids:

Has anyone here seen The Sound of Music? I'm going to be in it but I
don't know any of the characters except for the Von Trapp family and I
want to know if there are any mezzo-soprano roles because I am
clueless about this musical.

If you want to know the cuase of my ignorance, that's another story.

I have! *stands up like a theatre geek*
(outside of the usual sondheim stuffs I do watch a few Rogers and
Hammersteins--though I really had to take a while to like this one...)
Mezzo Soprano roles? (clueless...)
Like a bit lower than soprano, right?
Well Liesel (the oldest daughter) sounds slightly jazzier with only a
few high notes than Maria and the rest of them--does that count?
Maybe find "I am Sixteen Going On Seventeen"
The Nuns usually sound operatic and have varying voices, I think...
Eeps--sorries if this wan't much help...

Well, first things first, what's the age range of the people
performing this?
And tell you what, if I find anything on vocal ranges for the
characters, I'll post it, okay?

I'm afraid I couldn't find much, but this is what I have.

· Maria Rainer (20s/30s, soprano)
· Mother Abbess (40s or older, wide vocal range)
· Sisters Berthe, Margaretta, Sophia (mature voices)
· Captain Georg Von Trapp (40s or older, baritone)
· Franz (30s or older, non-singing)
· Frau Schmidt (30s or older, non-singing)
· Elsa Schraeder (30s or older, soprano/alto)
· Max Detweiler (30s or older, tenor/baritone)
· Herr Zeller (30s or older, non-singing)
· Baron Elberfeld (30s or older, non-singing)
· Baroness Elberfeld (30 or older, non-singing)
· Admiral Von Schreiber (50s or older, non-singing)
· Rolf Gruber (17 - must look 17 - low tenor)
· Liesl (16, wide vocal range)
· Friedrich (14, wide vocal range)
· Louisa (13, wide vocal range)
· Kurt (10, wide vocal range),
· Brigitta (9, wide vocal range),
· Marta (7, wide vocal range),
· Gretl (youngest, wide vocal range)
· Ursula (15 or older)
· Nuns (various, previous choral experience)

This was from another site, but it gives a vauge description of what
their vocal ranges should be.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the help guys!
Also answers to questions:
1. The age range is like 5th graders to 7th graders. I'm a 7th grader
but I'm tall for my age. You can see my picture in my profile.
2. Yes mezzo-sopranos are a little lower than sopranos. Think Eponine,
Fantine and Young Cosette's vocal ranges in the musical.

I'lll probably be the oldest daughter or something. I'm definately not
going to be Maria.

I must make a confession:

I've never seen Sound of Music either.

Ok not much of confession but ballyhoo...

I have to get this out of my system:
there are four magical, non miz-related words in this grim, gray,
monotone world:
1) Stephen Sondheim
2) Sweeney Todd (not my favorite play let alone Sondheim but still
awesome)
3)Movie
4) Directed by Tim Burton
foo-that isn't four words,
but it's meaty awesomeness in the works
I'm gonna be one of those peoples who won't see it in theatres--some
kids are usually stupid during movies...
so I'll wait til it leaks onto YouTube....
Now, in most cases, I am one of those skeptics who would kill this
thing
(ie: "what!?!--Johnny Depp SINGING!!!???")
but, no.
I learned that Stephen Sondheim himself approved of everything (Johnny
Depp and the rest had to audition and Stevie gave his tasty seal of
approval)
As for Tim Burton, well he's trustworthy:
1) this is his favorite musical--which means he's not just doing it
for money (so much)
2) He also had to be approved by Sondheim (who quite liked his vision
for the movie)
3) Tim Burton is Tim Freakin' Burton--personally I quite liked
'Nightmare Before Christmas'--it was funny/macabre
4) Yes, I was one of those who was angry when I heard the movie was
going to be PG-13--oddly, I was happy to find that Mr. Burton wanted
to make it R.
so--yeah! Sweeney Movie! Woot! the only bad thing is idiots are
gonna only go for the Depp...
but be scared out of their wits
in song
written by Stephen Sondheim
*laughs evilly*
*Gets into it*
*falls over*
*gets back up*
heehee--This is a grim sort of Sugar rush!

Personally, I'm excited about the Sweeney Todd film. I really love the
musical and I think Burton is gonna do fine in terms of directing it.
As for Depp, I have some faith in him...I mean, if Sondheim gave his
approval, then it shouldn't be too bad.

Tim Burton is the best choice on the face of this universe--it was so
perfect that when I first read the thinking I thought they were
kidding (they weren't).
Weclomes back, boss!

Isn't Burton great?

It's Michael Maguire on the cover on Newsweek.

lot...I could never understand why though...

GAHHHH....
Cosette is augh.
that's what she is in my view--she's not worthy of an adjective let
alone a noun!
The younger one was great--I liked her
but the older one is just
well, a ditz.
she abandons Valjean for a stalker!!
tho' he's cute...
but still!!!
:(
