Just passing along this time-sensitive request from Women Enabled International (WEI) regarding a submission to the CRPD Committee hearing in August, focusing on Article 11 and the situation of persons with disabilities in Gaza and the West Bank—with a particular emphasis on women, girls, and gender-diverse people with disabilities.

Dear colleagues,

I am writing from WEI to seek your endorsement for the attached submission for the upcoming CRPD Committee hearing, taking place in August and focused on Article 11-Situation of persons with disabilities in Gaza and the West Bank. This submission focuses largely on the situation of women, girls, and gender diverse people with disabilities.

Despite the urgency of the situation for all people, and in particular persons with disabilities, in Gaza and the West Bank, our community has not spoken out about these grave, systemic, and ongoing human rights violations often enough. The upcoming hearing is an important opportunity to raise the profile of the impact of the attacks on Gaza and the West Bank, both inside and outside the disability rights world.

This submission is meant to complement those contributions coming from Palestinian colleagues, including those with testimonials addressing the situation on the ground. In making this submission, we are hoping to reinforce that people with disabilities from around the world are in solidarity with our Palestinian colleagues.

If you are able to endorse the submission, please write back to me and my colleagues Agnieszka Krol (a.k...@womenenabled.org) and Ishani Cordeiro (i.cor...@womenenabled.org). We kindly request you to endorse this submission by Monday, 14th July, and apologize for the quick turnaround.
- If your organization is not able to endorse within this timeframe but would like to stay in touch about activities surrounding the hearing, please let us know, and we will keep you in the loop.
- At this time, we are not accepting edits to the submission, but please do alert us if you spot a factual error.
- If you'd like to work on a collective statement for the hearing in August (if such statements will be permitted), let us know and we will keep you in the loop!

This submission was drafted largely by Amanie Issa, a PhD Researcher and human rights advocate, focusing on gender and disability in settler colonial contexts particularly in Palestine.
