Support for a hackerspace/makerspace in Red Deer

Looking for people who are interested in a hackerspace/makerspace in Red Deer.  Join the group and respond if you like this idea.  I think we can definitely get a hackerspace going in Red Deer, there are lots of us out there, from the software hacker to hardware hacker and all the various makers out there.  It would be great if we could also foster interest in the youth for hacking and making.

I am certainly interested in a makerspace in Red Deer!  I was very excited to find out there was some kind of a prospect for putting a space like this in Red Deer. I just found out about it today from the Calgary Hackerspace group! Are there enough people interested yet to start making plans to start one here?

Just a handful so far... We've discussed ways of getting an actual space to work in, but I'm afraid nothing has come of it yet beyond this discussion group and an offline meeting a while back.

I've contacted both the spaces in Edmonton and Calgary looking to get some tips on getting this started.  

I think the best thing we can all do is get as many people as interested in this idea as possible and schedule another off-line meetup, maybe even take a field trip to another space.  Once we can get around 10 people we can start looking at getting a space going, and start making.  If you know anyone who is interested in this, get them to sign up to this group, and we can start organizing

A friend and I just visited protospace in calgary this weekend his brother is on the board there. I think we would both be interested as we were about to make some ads aquiring for interest in a local space. Im in for sure ill let him know about your board here.

Just stumbled across this group. I'm new to the area and not having access to workspace and tools anymore is killing me. I'd love to offer any help I can in getting a hackerspace going here in Red Deer.
