Mrs. Clapp has been pretty busy lately, so she hasn't had time to see us to finalize the coin drive plan...

This is just an idea, but we have to keep in mind that the we would promote our drive solely through the cause itself--Chinese orphans.
The thing is, it's hard for some people to connect with Chinese orphans...

I really like the idea of raising money for Chinese orphans, but there's also the field day thing and we had trouble deciding on a cause to focus on for that--some people were saying supporting one and only one cause, while other people said we could split it up between indian, china, and invisi children
^If we do split it up, MAYBE for the coin drive--we could do something more...universal? well not really universal, but easier for people to "connect" to? This is just a quick thought--we could definitely still stick with Chinese orphans. But i guess we could go for something like orphans in the entire world--http://www.sos-usa.org/Pages/default.aspx or http://www.orphansinneed.org/or...I remember Marsh talking about kids with cleft lips...and there's those pictures all over magazines and such and they are pretty powerful http://www.smiletrain.org/...these things are pretty powerful and makes everyone want to be able to help in some way....and kelly said that there are children orphans in China with clef lips :P but haha these are just some thoughts.....what do you guys think?

OKAY SO now its chinaorphans.org--helping disabled Chinese orphans, right?

Mrs. Clapp finally replied and she approved of the idea! She confirmed that the money needs to be counted daily--I'm usually around after school, but does anyone else want to help? Comment on days you can help--

Also, I received a "Fund Raising Intent Form" which basically finalizes our coin drive. We just need to make sure we're following all the rules of ASB collecting money. Ms. Poblete told me to talk to ASB--any leadership people want to help confirm? With that, can someone ask about the paper chain ideas--if we have permission and where it would hang? btw--are we making the paper chains a grade competition? or can it just be a chain with cool words that shows our schools progress?

and finally--Morning announcements--anyone else want to volunteer to do one? :) there's a document a couple of us are working on to write these announcements

This Fridays meeting will probably be making posters, right Christina?
