Coin Drive Progress!

For those that are wondering...

9th graders have donated aboutt $47? (someone donated like $29 :o)

8th graders have donated about $1.07

7th graders have donated about $1.25

hopefully 7th and 8th graders will maybe contribute a bit more XD so that the chain won't end up entirely black...any ideas how to add a little incentive, if needed? 

Mr. Rogers' nieces are from the Shepherd's Fields Childrens Village..and I was thinking maybe a quick lunch announcement + Mr. Rogers maybe talking about his connection with the drive? what do you guys think?

has the ASB already been involved? Isn't there homeroom reps? We could also use those for ads if they haven't already...?

also, most of the posters have been downstairs.. right? Maybe simply more posters...?

It's hard I guess with tennis and track going (Track has >100 members.. T.T) but... wednesssday there isn't sports...:D

Yeah, going along w/ what Allison said--some people have come up to me and suggested that there be more people inside the school directing kids to where the coins can be donated.

So, that said, if any of you don't have first period up at the high school or any other morning conflict and are available to stay in the Great Hall and show kids where the coin jars are, that would be really really appreciated:)

Also, what do you guys think about making an announcement sharing to the school the total amount we've collected so far? I know that the numbers aren't extremelyy high, but it might be a good idea to share our progress?

I think those are all good ideas, especially the one about Mr. Roger's nieces.  If he made an announcement at all three lunches, I think it would make people realize how it is a cause that impacts us; one they can relate to.

How big should the sign be? Anyone willing to make one? 

And teacher jar...hmm--there's the other jar that I got that we ended up not using--its still in the attendance office...we could use that? :D

Anyone know how Coin star works? Because the bank doesn't accept coins (????) so it has to be cashed first through coin star...apparently there's a fee for that.

The bank does accept coins; we also have to figure out what we're going to do with the money after we get it. Like, it's not like one of us can go to the bank and then use our credit cards to make a donation online.

Oh nvm now. Mrs. Poblete originally thought that the bank didn't accept coins, but today she told me it does. We don't need to do any of that--we're just writing a letter, having Mr. Coleman and everyone sign it, and then sending it. Mrs. Poblete will take care of going to the bank and making deposits, etc. :)
