Alright so we decided that it would probably be a good idea to start a
thread specifically for the teacher talent fundraiser because of the
influx in ideas having to do with that particularly event on the
meeting recap thread, so as of now, if you have anything to say about
that, reply to this (:

Anyhow, it seems like we've been making a lot of progress, which is
awesome--Most probably, as we get closer to the actual drive, we'll be
asking you to spread the word to your friends, so in case you have
questions about the details or anything, now would be a great time to
ask!

Oh, and yeah definitely-- I'll try getting the details about how the
specifics on money work from Conner or Ms. P as soon as possible--If
they don't have a direct answer, I would say that ultimately Mrs.
Clapp would be a great person to ask, but I'm sure they'll have an
answer (:

Okay guys, teehee I feel like I'm just responding to myself but anyhow--so I talked to Mr. Broderick today and it seems like a lot of issues with the Teacher-Talent idea have sprung up--I'm not saying that we can't find an alternative way to accomplish this, but I'm just making you aware that there are a few barriers that we need to know about.

The first thing is that our timing doesn't really seem like it's going to work--If we were to place any assembly on a Friday, we have a dance (either potentially the 20th or 27th) and pushing it back to the 13th might be a bit too much of a time crunch. Additionally, he let us know that most probably, administrators won't be able to add an assembly just for our fundraiser (so at the best, we can schedule one teacher talent in at the talent show). The final thing is that with fundraising for a teacher talent, we really need to find teachers who have legitimate talents (I know we could do something silly, so it's not really a "talent" but then it wouldn't fit in with the time slot at the Talent Show that we would have). The importance of this is that students will feel motivated to actually participate in the fundraiser. I hope it doesn't sound like I'm shooting the idea down, because I'm really not, but at the same time I'm glad that Broderick let us know about these things so we didn't figure them out at the last minute.

This said, there are a few options that we can consider. The first is to find some other way to do the assembly, but judging from what I heard today, I think that there's a very slim chance that we'll be able to--The next thing though, is to come down to the root of what we're aiming for. To support a cause, right? So essentially there are so many other creative ways out there that we could do a school wide drive--just involving less logistics and permission. Broderick suggested a few things (like these card wash voucher cards that we could sell...but personally that didn't sound that appealing :P) but I'm sure that there are definitely more options for a drive/fundraiser that we could consider that would be easily approved--If anyone can look into any companies/organizations that have promotions for things like that, that would be awesome!

Ah sorry for the last minute message, guys :/  We. Can. Do. This. Though. (:
