Monday Night Dinner on the Virginia Dare! The Virginia Dare cruise boat is a 19th Century replica side wheeler that is 63' long, 20' wide and 26.6' tall. It cruises Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia's most popular lake that offers 500 miles of shoreline and breathtaking views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. SML is the "Jewel of the Blue Ridge Mountains". |

| Planning Your Stay at Hotel Roanoke Hotel Roanoke offers self-parking ($8) and valet parking ($12). The VRA will cover the cost of self-parking. Just let the attendant know you are with the Virginia Recycling Association if you are an overnight guest of the hotel. For day parking (also $8) you will get a voucher from the VRA registration area to show the parking attendant. The hotel rooms do not include free wireless internet. Internet can be downloaded to your computer for a connection fee of $11.94. The connection is good for a 24-hour period. There are several computer kiosk areas in the hotel, including one in our conference area. There is also a business center in the hotel. |
Check in and Check it out! Attention Foursquare users: When you're at the VRA conference, be sure to check in on foursquare each day and at various events so you can let all your friends know where you are! Each check-in will earn you an entry for a prize drawing, and whoever is the Mayor of the conference as of noon on Wednesday will earn a special prize! If you're not already on Foursquare, go to www.foursquare.com or download an app from your marketplace to create an account. It's free, easy and fun. Monday, May 14: There's a lot going on! Dinner Cruise on Smith Mountain Lake This optional dinner Monday night is a great way to start the conference experience. Meet friends and colleagues for a casual cruise beautiful Smith Mountain Lake nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This is not included in the price of the conference registration. Register until May 7: www.vrarecycles.org. We will travel as a group to the cruise where we have a reservation. Dinner, coffee, tea and dessert are included. Cash Bar. There's also still room in the Golf Tournament (shotgun start at 1:00 p.m.) and the tour of the Roanoke Resource Authority (departs at noon)! Register online! |
